Open Source Sendmail Website FAQ
October, 2010
- What happened to the sendmail.org home page?
To better serve the entire Sendmail community, we have begun to bring all of the Sendmail web properties into alignment. These include sendmail.org, milter.org, sendmail.com, and sentrionappstore.com. This intermediate page is the first step in that process. All links that were previously available from sendmail.org homepage are available here under “Open Source Sendmail”.
- Does this mean that sendmail.org will eventually go away?
Sendmail, Inc. continues to support Open Source solutions and to advance the Open Source sendmail MTA. The content on sendmail.org will eventually be better organized and easier to navigate as well as provide you additional access to resources found on Sendmail’s other web properties.
- What other resources will be available to benefit Open Source users?
By better aligning all of our web properties, Sendmail will be able to provide the Open Source community with improved access to all of the Sendmail communities as well as new resources and tools such as a migration tool for moving MTA rules to the Sentrion policy engine and a new API for developing custom applications for the community section of the Sentrion App Store.
- Will Sendmail, Inc. be trying to sell me commercial versions of their products?
Open Source users will continue to be able to easily download the open source sendmail MTA just as they do today. We will however provide the entire Sendmail community with special access to information and other Sendmail products relevant to open source users. This will include free evaluation copies to assist users in evaluating different products as well as tools for migrating from Open Source software to commercially supported products.
This FAQ will be updated as we continue to align all of the Sendmail web properties. If you have any questions please send us an email: webmaster@sendmail.com
