Sendmail Appoints Rene Pharisien as Vice President of Americas Sales
Sendmail Expands Senior Leadership Team with Seasoned Sales Veteran

Emeryville, Calif., March 9, 2010 — Sendmail, Inc., the leading provider of reliable and secure email and messaging infrastructures, today announced Rene Pharisien will join the company as vice president of Americas Sales. He will lead Sendmail’s ongoing efforts to continue achieving record-setting sales revenue growth in the Americas. Specifically, Pharisien will be responsible for managing and growing the Sendmail Sentrion® Message Processor product and services revenue with enterprise customers in the United States, Canada, and Latin and South America. In his new role, Pharisien will report to Sendmail’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Glen D. Vondrick, who previously guided the Americas team to record performance.

“I am excited to welcome Rene to the Sendmail team during a time when the Company is experiencing tremendous growth,” said Vondrick. “After achieving two consecutive, record-breaking years of sales and revenue growth during the most turbulent economic times, we are expanding our leadership team with the appointment of a seasoned sales veteran capable of helping us sustain our momentum. Rene’s proven experience in scaling enterprise sales organizations and selling to the Fortune 500 will be an invaluable asset to Sendmail by helping us execute on our strategy and drive increased sales and product revenues.”

Pharisien joins Sendmail most recently from DecisionView where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, following executive assignments with Niku and Kintera. Earlier in his career, Pharisien also had experience directing several high-growth enterprise sales teams at Siebel Systems, Epiphany, 3Com, Sequent Systems, and Prime Computer.

“Prior to making the decision to join Sendmail, I did a lot of market research on the Company, including speaking with various industry analyst organizations such as Gartner, and a number of Sendmail’s Fortune 500 customers,” said Pharisien. “It’s clear to me that Sendmail has market differentiation as the leader in an emerging category of messaging infrastructure. I am excited to help Sendmail continue its momentum in winning new accounts by helping large enterprises recognize the savings available by modernizing their email backbones with the Sentrion messaging platform.”
