RSA Conference 2007
Booth #1736
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., RSA Conference – February 5, 20 – Sendmail, Inc., the leading global provider of policy-centric trusted messaging, launches into 2007 with several strong advances in corporate development and growth. The company has recently added support for two best-of-breed technology partners, FaceTime and Voltage, and has successfully implemented its new Risk Assessment Program, designed to deliver a rapid, results-based assessment of the actual security and compliance risks found in an organization’s outbound email.
“Sendmail’s momentum in the Secure Content Management market reflects the increasing demand for a comprehensive solution for addressing both internal and external messaging threats,” said Donald Massaro, Sendmail CEO. “We are in a solid position for continued growth, and our new strategic partnerships further deliver on our promise to provide bi-directional clean, compliant, secure and authenticated communications.”
Sendmail Partners
Sendmail is committed to offering its customers the ability to address both internal and external messaging threats via a single, integrated and open platform based upon a high-performance policy engine. As part of this commitment, Sendmail partners with a host of leading companies that share a proven track-record of delivering interoperable, easy-to-manage solutions for secure message processing.
Sendmail’s new partnership with Voltage, provider of the IBE™ public key cryptography system, will extend the Sendmail Trusted Unified Messaging Platform (TrUMP) by providing powerful, policy-based encryption that is easy to implement and manage. Because Voltage IBE uses common identities, such as an email address, as public keys, the need for certificates and other costly infrastructure is eliminated. The result is a complete, secure messaging solution that meets the regulatory requirements associated with protecting the integrity of sensitive of confidential information.
The integration between Sendmail and FaceTime, a provider of solutions to secure and control real-time greynet applications such as instant messaging and P2P file sharing, will strengthen Sendmail’s TrUMP by extending security, compliance and management across multiple communication channels. Through the partnership, Sendmail will offer customers an end-to-end messaging security, management and compliance solution to ensure that all important corporate information is safe from outside threats and internal information leaks.
Sendmail Risk Assessment
Sendmail has successfully implemented its Risk Assessment Program designed to benchmark actual security and compliance risks found in outbound email.
Because one in five of the more than 130 billion email messages sent each day is estimated to contain a legal, compliance or financial risk, enterprises that do not have insight into what is actually occurring in outbound email - where an estimated 80 percent of compliance violations occur - are in jeopardy of damaging brand, competitive advantage or shareholder value.
Built on Sendmail’s 25-year history of building messaging and operational best practices, the Sendmail Risk Assessment Program identifies the security, compliance and competitive risks contained in a corporation’s outbound email over a 48-hour analysis period. This allows the Sendmail Risk Assessment team to present an actionable roadmap designed to eliminate internal communications dangers.
“The Sendmail Risk Assessment Program provided us with invaluable insight into the areas of exposure in our messaging system,” said the chief information officer at this US government research center. “This in-depth analysis, combined with a remediation plan based on Sendmail’s messaging expertise, provided our security, compliance and messaging teams an actionable plan for focusing on and correcting the most critical vulnerabilities contained in our outbound communications.”
