Integration Engineer — Emeryville, CA

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

As part of Sendmail's Engineering organization, the Integration Engineer would assist in producing a CentOS Linux-based appliance for message processing in three forms: rack mount servers, blade servers, and VMware-based virtual appliances. The Integration Engineer would work on tasks such as operating system upgrades, back-end scripts to connect the user interface to the operating system and messaging components, and packaging the existing appliance into a virtual appliance.

Requirements

  • Advanced Linux installation/administration/configuration
  • VMware Workstation, Server, and ESX
  • Perl and shell script development
  • Attention to detail

Additional Experience

  • CentOS installation/administration/configuration
  • C and Java development
  • Appliance (embedded Linux) "black-box" creation
  • Linux hardening skills (UNIX and network security)
  • User interface
  • Network infrastructure (DNS, routing, etc.)
