Software Engineer - Install — Emeryville, CA

Job Description

We are looking for a self-motivated, hands-on engineer to take ownership of the design and implementation of installers for Sendmail products. Responsibilities include full life-cycle architecture, design, and development of server and application installers for Solaris and Linux platforms. The individual will work closely with other team members in delivering a high quality software product.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development on Linux, UNIX environment.
  • Experience with UNIX system administration.
  • Develop flexible, reusable code that can be shared in multiple applications.
  • Familiarity with Linux packaging/installation technology (RPM/tar/apt) a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Perl/Python/shell) a plus.
  • Must have good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, motivated and detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work under schedule pressure.
  • Must have very strong analytical skills, good judgment and passion for your work.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience in development or QA roles
