The other day I had the opportunity to get on the phone and record an “Ask the Experts” Podcast with Michael Osterman, of Osterman Research, and Glen Vondrick, Sendmail’s EVP and COO, to talk about the importance of an email backbone. I added some visuals to graphically walk the “listener” through Michael and Glen’s discussion.
If you are not familiar with Sendmail’s “Ask the Experts” programs we strive to keep them educational in nature, not product sales pitches. This Podcast is chalk-full of excellent information on why big companies are architecting SMTP backbones even as they move different components of their email infrastructure to the cloud. They also touch upon how Exchange 2010, with its improved transport rules policy engine, fits into the picture.
