One More Thing…

Just a quick update on last week’s DKIM Progress blog post: Google just announced a new verified senders program. Under the new program, DKIM signed messages from “super-trustworthy” senders will be shown with a small key icon next to the sender’s name in Gmail.

As I wrote in my What is in a name? posting, simply looking for a valid DKIM signature is not enough to stop phishers. Domain reputation is needed to complete the picture. Gmail is starting small, only eBay and PayPal and considered super-trustworthy right now but more will be added in the future.
