Did I miss the perfect block list? Follow up to my MAAWG post

MAAWG is a great place for networking. For example, I had the opportunity to talk to a couple of people involved with the Spamhaus Project which provides a collection of DNS based block lists.

Those of you who follow the Sendmail blog may recall my somewhat negative stance on these types of block lists. In that blog posting, I invited readers to tell me if I had missed the perfect block list. While perfection has yet to be attained, I was happily surprised to learn that Spamhaus addresses many of my concerns regarding blocking policy and delisting procedures.

For this looking for a real time block list, take a look at the Spamhaus website where they list their various block lists and prominently provide each list’s policy and delisting procedure.

Feel free to share your experiences (good or bad) with Spamhaus or other block lists by adding a comment to this article. I look forward to hearing your feedback.
