It’s a New Year and this month we’re featuring the Sent-by-Mistake Prevention App (PDF). Didn’t mean to hit send? Well, you can recall a message after it has been sent by mistake and avoid the feeling of not being able to take back an email that was sent to the wrong person. This particular app plugs into your Sentrion Policy Engine to provide an automatic lag time after you click “Send,” and before the message actually leaves your inbox. The short story is that Sent-by-Mistake is an extension to the Sentrion policy engine that allows a sender to recall a message after it has been sent by mistake and catch and correct this mistake that helps and protects against not only embarrassing gaffes, but also information leaks and more.
Benefits and Functionality Overview:
There are programs such as Microsoft Exchange that have recall features, but they end up being useless because nothing can be done once the message has left the server. Sent-by-Mistake Prevention provides users with a specific period of time to realize the mistake and fix it, which in the end, results in better corporate security.
With ‘Sent-by-Mistake Prevention’, users can recall an email message directly from their email client as if the message was never sent:
- Compose the message
- Mistakenly hit ‘send’ to the wrong recipient (been there, done that, right?)
- Realize your mistake within a few minutes
- Recall the message, enter the correct address, and send again
- You’re in the clear!

Look forward to your thoughts and comments on this app.
