		<description>Thank you for this very informative post about greylisting! Although I admit some if it is beyond my level of technical expertise... :)

My own encounter with greylisting has been because several emails I have sent in the last couple of weeks have not reached the recipients because their mail server implemented greylisting, and a later received an error message with &#039;retry timout exceeded&#039;. 

The major problem with this though is that the time between sending the original email and when I received the bounce message has been up to a TWO WEEK gap!!

I have been in contact with my ISP to check the configuration of our mail server - and hopefully the issue is now fixed to prevent emails from our server being greylisted. 

BUT from my perspective, although greylisting may be a useful tool in the battle against spam, it is completely unacceptable that legitimate senders do not learn their messages have not been delivered until so long after they have been sent.

And I&#039;m wondering if others have experienced the same frustration.
